It's my 2nd year with Finplan and my core area of teaching is Economics.

It is my second year, teaching at Finplan for the integrated International Bcom and ACCA course. The course integrates 2 practical skill based subjects pertaining to Financial Markets which I instruct on at the institute.
I believe the exposure students get through the course brings out an overall development amongst students while exposing them to the practical world which should equip them to excel at in professional life.

V. N. Rajasekharan Pillai (born 20 October 1949) is the vice-chancellor of Somaiya Vidyavihar
University and provost of Somaiya Vidyavihar, Pillai concurrently serving as the chancellor of the
ICFAI University, Tripura. He was president of Mewar University, Chiittorgarh, Rajasthan, India
(2016–2018).
Pillai is the Founder President of Human Development Foundation India, a Civil Society
Organisation in the National Capital Region, New Delhi.
He served as the executive vice-president of the Kerala State Council for Science, Technology
and Environment, Govt of Kerala (2011–2014). Simultaneously, he held the positions of principal
secretary, Science & Technology Dept. of the Govt. of Kerala, chairman of the Kerala Coastal
Zone Management Authority, and the Kerala Biotechnology Commission.
Prior to that, he was the vice-chancellor of the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU),
New Delhi (2006–2011). He served as vice-chairman and chairman of the University Grants
Commission, Govt of India, New Delhi, during the period 2002–2006.
He was executive director of the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), Govt
of India, during the period 2000–2002.
Prior to that, Pillai was the vice-chancellor of the Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, Govt of
Kerala and held additional charge of the Cochin University of Science and Technology
(1996–2000).
In 2000, he was on a visiting research professor assignment in the University of Lausanne,
Switzerland.
From 1983 to 1996, Pillai worked in various academic and research executive positions in the
Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam such as the founder professor and director of the School
of Chemical Sciences, dean of Faculty of Science, founder director of the School of Professional
Distance Education, director, College Development Council and controller of examinations of the
university.
From 1977 to 1983, Pillai worked as a postdoctoral research fellow, on deputation from Calicut
University, Kerala, in the Universities of Tubigen and Mainz, Germany.
From 1971 to 1983, he worked in the Universities of Kerala and Calicut University as UGC/CSIR

Saurabh Pinjani joined Kedaara Capital in 2021. Prior to joining Kedaara Capital, Saurabh worked as a Junior Associate in the India office of McKinsey & Company. At McKinsey, he worked across multiple sectors including Cement and Financial services advising clients in Due Diligence and Growth Transformation projects. Saurabh holds an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad where he graduated as an Industry Scholar. on strategic communication and digital marketing. In his career, he has been associated with
organisations from the U.S.A, Canada, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Japan, Australia, and
India. This helped him gather a wide experience in cross-cultural interactions. He has worked as
a consultant since 2001. He spent 14 years of his career in India before moving to the UK in
2004 where he has lived and worked ever since.
His current activities include teaching and consultancy in the Education, Skill and Knowledge
space with special focus on the strategy, digital space, technology application and sustainability.

Management education in a highly dynamic environment requires a high degree of
flexibility in the management course offered to the students. The latest developments
in knowledge and skill are to be constantly observed with keen interest and the same
should be imparted to the students as well as to the teaching faculty. In order to
achieve progress in this direction, it is absolutely imperative to go beyond the
syllabus prescribed by the University.
Furthermore, to ensure the academic status and build the rigor and relevance in the
course, it is inevitable to strike a golden mean between the syllabus and additional
skill and knowledge. This means that apart from dwelling on the syllabus, students
and teachers will have to be exposed to several other new emerging areas in the
business. The list of activities that go beyond the formal syllabus are very lengthy
and very difficult to comprehend.
However, an illustrative list of such activities include knowledge based activities;
organizing seminars on latest developments in domestic and global economies,
development in areas such as neurology based business models in finance,
marketing and human resource management will have to be discussed as part of the
non curricular activity. Similarly,adoption of new technology, its implication for the
trade and business should be discussed threadbare.

This college came into existence in July 1989 and we have completed twenty-eight eventful years. I have been indeed fortunate to have been one of the first five lecturers to join on July 10, 1989. With me were the late CA Ashok Sawant, Mrs. Malabika Ray, Mrs. Saraswathy and Mr. Pakhale. Mrs. Sangeeta Kore joined a day later. Mr. Raghavendra and Mrs. Jayashree Balan joined the college office along with Mr. Rajendra D in the library. Mr. Maruti Patel and Mr. Prakash Rasal joined us as peons. The Junior College moved from SIES School to our premises and the two Janaki teachers ensured that the process of integration could begin. From this small band we have now grown to close to a hundred teaching and non-teaching staff and over three thousand students. We have expanded from only B.Com to several selffinanced courses. We now offer BMS, BSC IT, BAF, BBI and BFM courses which are very popular with the student community. I am proud to be associated with this college and for a veteran like me it is my second home. I believe the vision of serving the community through education can be realized only if all stakeholders work together in a spirit of co-operation and collaboration. Together we can take the community forward on a journey towards empowerment and enlightenment.

The Lala Lajpatrai Memorial Trust was formed in 1959, marking the eve of the Birth Centenary of the Late Shri Lala Lajpatrai, to work for the objectives which were so dear and near to Lalaji's heart. Though Lalaji was interested in almost all fields of activities that contribute to the enrichment of national and social life, the cause of education was always uppermost on his mind. It was therefore desired by our late Prime Minister Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri that the most fitting way of commemorating the great patriot was to start an institution of higher education based on his ideology.
The actual establishment of the College was made possible due to the allotment of a valuable piece of land, admeasuring about 26,000 Sq.ft, on a fairly nominal rent, by the Government of Maharashtra. The good offices and the efforts of Late Shri Yashwantrao Chavan were primarily instrumental in getting the piece of land. The construction of the present huge magnificent building was made possible by the contribution made by the generous philanthropists and donation made by the trustees. With the formation of the Lala Lajpatrai Institute, the next logical step was the establishment of the Lala Lajpatrai College of Commerce and Economics. The College which is affiliated to the University of Mumbai is situated at Haji Ali, on the road named after Shri Lala Lajpatrai.

K.P.B. Hinduja College of Commerce was founded in 1974 by the visionary industrialist Late Shri Parmanand Deckhand Hinduja. The philanthropist who believed in the welfare of human kind devoted a portion of the profits from his mercantile activities for charitable work especially in the fields of education and healthcare which he considered as the fundamental right of every human being.K.P.B. Hinduja College of Commerce is recognised as one of the premier academic institutions in Mumbai and has the ISO 9001 Certification. It received the Best College Award for year 2010-11, from the University of Mumbai. In March 2016, the University Grants Commission UGC) selected the College as a College with Potential for Excellence. The coveted status was awarded to the College from amongst several Colleges that had applied for the same (scheme). Vidya Prasarak Mandal was founded in the year 1935. Its founding fathers led by late Dr. V.N. Bedekar, a medical practitioner were men imbued with idealism and desire to serve the educational needs of the people of Thane.
Beginning with a primary school, Dr. Bedekar and his team, worked with missionary zeal. Today, the educational institutions established by Vidya Prasarak Mandal in Thane serves the needs of more than fifteen thousand students.
K.G. Joshi College of Arts & N.G. Bedekar College of Commerce was the first institution of higher learning to be established in Thane City in 1969. Strategically located, the college is at walking distance from Thane Railway Station on the Central Railway line. It is well connected by bus services to every part of the city including Navi Mumbai.
The College received permanent affiliation, in January 1988 with effect from June 1982. The college was reaccredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), Banglore and awarded ‘A’ grade in January 2011 (2nd cycle) and subsequently has awarded ‘A’ grade in November 2016 during 3rd cycle. The College is one of the Community Colleges of the University of Mumbai and has got the Best College Award of University of Mumbai (2011-12). The College is also ISO 9001-2015 Certified.
